Beautiful full day hike in Chambok / Cardamom mountains
It was so lovely to leave Phnom Penn for the day and to see some of the Cambodian countryside, hiking in the Cardamom mountains.
Thong is a lovely person and an excellent host. The hike was a lot of fun, in a beautiful environment – waterfall, bat cave, pine forest. We were accompanied by a community guide, Sanh, who joined us at the Chambok village after a quick breakfast. We also shared a basic lunch in the mountains, 8km into the 16km hike. Really great excursion if you’re traveling solo or with friends. Note it’s a 3 hour trip to get to the village so it’s important to get an early start. Expectedly traffic on the return journey is heavy, but a good opportunity to nap in the car. Thanks Thong and his team.
